Crohn's Awareness is dedicated to educating people about Crohn's Disease and providing valuable resources to Crohn's patients, their friends and family, Doctors, and those who simply want to learn more about the disease.  Currently, there is no cure for this often times debilitating disease.  From education is understanding, understanding breeds action, and through action comes a cure.  On this site you will find pages that explain Crohn's Disease, resources for managing your disease, recent news concerning Crohn's, ways to contribute to the fight against Crohn's Disease, and reports on recent developments in Crohn's Disease research.

In the Spotlight - Crohn's patient has dreams of Olympic glory

As the 2012 Olympic Games in London approach, 28 year old kayaker Carrie Johnson has more than training on her mind.  Carrie suffers from Crohn's Disease and if it were to flare up the disease could throw a serious wrench in her plans.

Carrie has been ranked as high as fifth in the world in the flatwater sprints which require a mix of speed and endurance.  There is no doubt that if Carrie can stay healthy the next three months she will be a force to be reckoned with.  Carrie serves as an inspiration to fellow Crohn's Disease patients.  We here at Crohn's Awareness wish Carrie the best and hope she brings home a gold medal for the United States.
